Davis Applied Technology Center Opening

Davis Applied Technology Center Opening

October 30, 2013 the Davis Applied Technology Center formally dedicated their new classroom/training center in the Clearfield Freeport Center.  The State of Utah acquired the D5 Building in the center and contacted JRCA to assist in renovation of the 128,000 square foot facility.  This facility was constructed during the 1940’s during the war effort.  JRCA worked closely with the Campus to develop plans to upgrade the look of the exterior and re-purpose 32,000 square feet of interior.  This effort included a seismic upgrade of the south quarter of the building to accommodate classroom facilities.

The end product is a high bay flexible training facility that can adapt to very specific technology skills training.  The programs housed here are developed with the input of local technology and business industries.  The space adapts to meet these individualized needs.  Presently Industrial automation and manufacturing occupy a portion of the space.  Future development of the balance of the facility is planned to further the mission of the DATC in providing advanced technical skills training.
