Following the successful completion of their Civic Center and Headquarters Fire Station, Springville City elected to continue with JRCA Architects in creating a new home for the Community’s Library facilities.
Building on the Community and Staff’s commitment to implementing a retail library model, a central avenue and main circulation spine was developed. Springville is known as the ‘Art City’ and opportunities for art display were integrated throughout the building. A strong visual connection from the interior to the adjacent Hobble Creek was created through large windows overlooking a pedestrian green space adjacent to the creek. High performance glazing with exterior sunshades were paired with radiant heating and a displacement cooling system to produce excellent energy and efficiency.
