WesTech Engineering Moves In to Their New 64,110 Sq. Ft. Corporate Headquarters
State of the art facility designed to promote interoffice communications

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Having outgrown their existing work space, WesTech Engineering, Inc. recently moved 250 members of their Salt Lake workforce into a new office space designed by the Salt Lake based Architecture firm JRCA Architects, and constructed by Interwest Construction.

WesTech Engineering, a company specializing in supplying process equipment for water, wastewater and industrial applications worldwide, looked to expand into a new facility that was more conducive to their workgroup management philosophy and encouraged more employee interaction. JRCA’s design adheres to this need by directing employee circulation through the central stair/atrium areas as well as the lunch room/commons area to facilitate better communication and collaboration.

“The success of this facility began the WesTech staff’s involvement from the very beginning and has resulted in an innovative design unique to their organization,” said Jim Child, AIA, Principal in Charge. “We also took into consideration WesTech’s long term growth potential by looking beyond their immediate needs and planning for possible future buildings.”

Building configuration and dimensions were carefully developed to maximize day lighting into all workspaces, thus reducing artificial light. Intergraded lighting and mechanical controls have been included to manage varied occupant loads, building exposure, and operation schedules.

The innovative design has also recognized by the City of South Salt Lake with the presentation of the 2011 “Mayor’s Award of Design Excellence”.
